I found myself in a place that was stale,
It had nothing to do with my environment.
I found myself in a place that was pale,
And it had everything to do my spirit.
A place of emptiness,
A place of nothingness,
A place of vast, dark echoes.
I looked and searched for a break,
A streak of light, a crack in the woods.
I walked around to find respite,
But where I sought peace, there the war began.
Where I sought forgiveness, hearts were hardened.
Where I sought companionship, I found loneliness.
I sat down to think…
Frustrated, all hope gone, I turned within…
To who I was…
What I could do…
My strengths…my passion…my life…
And there it was, like water in a parched land…
It didn’t seem to fit in,
But there it was…
…A rose of light.
The more I go to it each day,
The more it seems to glow brighter…
Through it my stale nature vanished slowly away,
Through it my paleness faded away,
Through it my emptiness flew unnoticed,
Through it the echoes stopped.
Through it I found release…
Through it, I realized that…
Love is infinite; you can always make more when you need it…for you, for your family, for your friends…
The opposite of darkness is not essentially light; its love…….
A Rose of Light
